BIO180: Introduction to Marine Biology

This unit provides an introduction to marine organisms and ecosystems and thus a framework for further study of marine biology. The main topics covered are: (i) the marine environment; (ii) the types and variety of marine organisms; and (iii) major ecological categories of marine organisms. Students will conduct either a field-based or a literature-based research project.
