AST552: Culture and Religion in Asia (Not available in 2010)

This unit is an introduction to the major religions of Asia including Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism and Christianity, from a sociological and cultural perspective. It concentrates on the dynamic relationship between cultures and religions in contemporary Asia. It also examines the relevance of religion to everyday life of the countries in the region including issues such as politics and terrorism.
