ANS356: Animal Parasitology

This unit in applied parasitology introduces the concept of parasitism and the diversity of parasitic organisms. The life cycles and transmission patterns of the major parasites of production animals in Australia are described. The interaction between hosts and parasites leading to the disease is covered in detail. Special attention is given to the practical treatment of parasitic disease and the development of integrated approaches to parasite control in farming systems.

Enrolment in Bachelor of Animal Science; ANS251 Agricultural Biochemistry and ANS350 Pathology of Production Animals.
