ANS106: Animal and Human Bioethics

Scientific and ethical justifications for using animals in agriculture, education, research, recreation and as companions will be investigated as will key aspects of reproductive technologies and genetic engineering for both humans and animals. Other topics include the role of animals in society, the management of wildlife and methods of euthanasia. Students will address the challenges involved in maintaining high standards of animal welfare for animals in our care. Students may focus their studies on either animal or human bioethical domains.
