AIS281: Contemporary Indigenous Issues

This unit is designed to provide an understanding of contemporary issues relating to Indigenous Australians. It discusses the historical and political context for issues such as Aboriginal deaths in custody, the removal of children, land rights, the rise of Indigenous organisations and reconciliation. It also explores responses to these issues, which may take the form of art, song writing or politics.

Nil.
Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.

Exclusions

Students who have successfully completed AIS181 Contemporary Indigenous Issues may not enrol in this unit for credit.

Graduate, Postgraduate and Honours students should enrol in the higher-level code for this unit.
