The Lectopia Staff Tool lists your units that have Lectopia recordings, allows you to access the list
of recorded lectures for each unit and lets you provide additional information for students, such as
an outline or a PowerPoint file.
Access
Go to: https://lectures.murdoch.edu.au/lectopia/staff/
Use your Murdoch username and password.
Edit information about a series of lectures
- Click on the unit name to access its details.
- Under 'Unit Contact' you can edit the name and contact details for a series of lectures.
- Under 'Recording Options' you can enable the 'Lecture Rating' which allows students to rate the
lecture.
- Under 'Delivery Options' you can alter search options. In particular you can determine how many
coming lectures students can view in advance. This is relevant if you want them to access PowerPoint
presentations in advance of a lecture. Use the 'Search days in advance' drop down menu for this.
The default is display no days in advance.
Always click 'Update' once you have altered any settings.
Upload a PowerPoint file

Do not upload PowerPoint slides if your lecture is in a screen capture venue. |

PowerPoint slides that contain animation of any kind cannot be handled by the
Lectopia system and animated slides will not appear. |

Please do not upload other kinds of files. The Lectopia system does not have
the capacity to accommodate them. |
- Select the unit into which you want to upload a PowerPoint.
- Click 'Upload' in the PPT column on the left of the screen.
- Click 'Browse' and select the PowerPoint file from your hard drive.
- Click 'Upload File'.

- Click on the date of a specific lecture on the left of the screen.
- Go to 'Related Links' on the right side of the screen.
- Click 'Upload a PowerPoint file for this lecture'.
- Click 'Browse' and select the PowerPoint file from your hard drive.
- Click 'Upload File'.
Be patient. PowerPoint slides may not be available immediately.
Delete a PowerPoint file
Click on the date of a specific lecture on the left of the screen to access the Recording List/Recording
Details screen.
- Go to 'Related Links' on the right side of the screen.
- Go to 'Delete'.
- Click the check box.
- Click 'Delete Selected Links'.
Enter Copyright Information
- Within a lecture, click 'Add Copyright Material Record'.
- Use the drop down menu to select the agency.
- Enter the details.
- Click 'Add'.
- Either click 'Duplicate' to enter and edit a further record or click 'Update'.
Provide additional information for a specific lecture
- Click on the date of the lecture on the left of the screen.
- Add or edit information under 'Additional Lecture Details', for example, title of lecture (important
to identify downloaded files), name of the speaker (in the case of a guest lecturer), related URLs,
and lecture outline.
This information will appear in the Lectopia interface that students see when they access the recordings.
Cancel a Lectopia recording
If a lecture has been scheduled but you choose to cancel the recording of it you can do so on the
Recording List/Unit Details screen.
- Click the date of the scheduled lecture.
- Go to 'Summary'.
- Go to 'Status'.
- Select 'Cancelled' from the drop down menu.
- Click 'Update'.
Copy of recordings
If you would like to keep a copy of your lectures download them from the staff tool.
AVS no longer offers the service of burning lectures to CD.
