Jon Rock Travel Scholarship

Jon Rock was an external student at Murdoch University from 1988-1991, studying postgraduate Community Service. Mr Rock bequeathed his estate to Murdoch University in support of graduates studying Humanities in a field of Science.


Postgraduate students are invited to apply for an award of up to $5,000 per recipient, per year, to fund travel to an international conference and present the findings of their research to peers.

Requirements

Applications are invited from students who are studying humanities in a field of science. To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be a current Murdoch student
  • be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident;
  • have had Confirmation of Candidature (CoC) approved
  • be within the allowed enrolment period for the Degree
  • have submitted a satisfactory Annual Progress Report for the previous year
  • maintain continuous full-time enrolment
  • not have submitted your thesis for examination

To apply1. Submit a one-page statement detailing the conference being applied for with evidence of its standing in the discipline, along with the paper or presentation abstract and a 2-page summary of the key arguments or innovations to be presented at the conference. This should also include a list of key references and be accompanied by your (brief) Curriculum Vitae
