Set yourself up for a career in the games production industry with this tailored course taught by international experts.

Our Games Art and Design course is based on industry best practice, combining creative processes and concepts with the latest industry standard tools, techniques and workflows to create games for a growing global market.

You’ll learn from international games production experts, including Simon Allen, who worked as an animator for Pixar, Jason Trevenen, who worked as a concept artist for Disney, and Brad Power, who was lead designer at the Perth studio of AAA developer Interzone Games.

This course is streamed to industry specialisations – concept artist, games designer and technical artist – and offers a number of pathways to a career in the games industry: production art for 3D modelling, animation and texture painting; concept art for 2D illustration and character design; and game design for virtual world construction, level design, and high-concept gameplay development.

You'll engage in work‐related learning that will enable you to create innovative games and interactive media solutions,and project manage a Games Art and Design project. With these broad skills you'll be able to work across a range of disciplines within the international games industry.

When you graduate you may choose from a range of careers, including concept artist, technical artist, animator, character modeller, game designer, environment modeller, production artist, matte and texture painter, game play tester, lighting artist and level designer.
