As a Murdoch Screen Production student, you will gain hands-on experience in our state-of-the-art media arts centre. You will use a wide range of professional equipment and industry standard facilities, including video editing suites, TV studios and sound stage. You’ll learn to perform all roles required to create productions – from cameraperson to soundperson, director, editor, switcher, floor manager and more.
You can add another major to this degree to help shape your qualification for the career path you would like to follow. To be a cinematographer, add a major in Photography. To be a sound designer, add a major in Sound. To be a director, add a major in either Theatre and Drama or English and Creative Writing. Other recommended double majors include Journalism, Web Communication, Graphic Design, Public Relations or Philosophy.
When you graduate, you could launch your own production company, work on feature films, create TV commercials for broadcast TV, or freelance as a cinematographer, video editor, sound recordist or professional YouTube vlogger.
