This course provides you with an opportunity to gain or enhance your knowledge on early childhood education and to explore the educational principles, pedagogy and practices that underpin best practice when supporting young children’s learning and development.
The course provides a pathway to the Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care for those who are Primary qualified teachers.
At Murdoch, we recognise that learning through play is vital for inspiring creativity, fostering resilience and self-regulation, supporting the achievement of educational outcomes, as well as nurturing a child’s identity and wellbeing. This position is supported by international research.
On completion of the Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Education you will have a widely accepted qualification from a recognised university and will be eligible for employment in a leadership capacity in the Australian Early Childhood Education and Care sector.

Each course has a core set of units that must be completed for you to graduate. In addition to these core units you are free to choose other units, called general electives, to create your own course.
