B

Banks and Credit Unions
BankWest and Unicredit both have branches on campus. BankWest is the only ATM on campus.

Bookshop
At the Bookshop you can find your booklist, unit readers, stationery requirements, computer software and consumables, stamps, phone cards and gift ideas. For your booklists and stationery needs.

Counselling Service
The Counselling Service provides free and confidential counselling support to assist students at Murdoch University address academic and personal difficulties impacting upon their well-being and ability to study.

Directory - Campus Directory - Telephone Directory
Use the Campus Directory to search for a University staff member. Find their phone number, room number and email address. However, it does not include all tutors. If you can't find your tutor you should contact your unit coordinator first.

Email Address - Your University email address
The University will correspond to all students via email. You will have the option, either via our Online Response process or via MyInfo, to inform the University of your preferred email address. If you do not have a preferred email address the University automatically provides you with one which can be accessed via the University's Webmail system. Further information can be found here.

Equity
The Equity, Access and Diversity Office provides information and support to students from a variety of diverse backgrounds. This includes assisting people who have experienced significant disruption in their education (refugees, rural/isolated, low SES) and students with a disability or medical condition. Equity also coordinates the Pre-Orientation Program (POP) in early February for new students with a disability. More details can be accessed from the Equity, Access and Diversity web page.

Examinations
Most units have an end of semester or trimester examination. The Examinations Office publishes the Assessment Period dates on their home page. Students are advised to be aware of these dates and ensure that they do not book any travel within this period. The full examination timetable will be available on the web during the semester.

External Studies Office
The External Studies Office (ESU) provides external students with a conduit to University services. The ESU coordinates the distribution of unit materials, the tracking of external assignments as well as providing a general contact point for external students.

First Year Experience
The First Year Experience Office assists students to make the transition to university study. They also provide a central point of contact for new students who need assistance (whether that be emotional academic or financial) in their first year of study at Murdoch way.

Food
The University has a number of different food outlets on campus.

Guild of Students
The Murdoch University Guild of Students is the representative body for students, providing representation, advocacy, services and activities on campus.

Health Service
The Health Service exists for the well being of all staff and students at Murdoch University and provides quality medical and nursing services on campus.

International Students - Murdoch International (MI)
Murdoch International is responsible for the admission, orientation and welfare of all international students. MI provides international students with important support services, pastoral care, visa and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) services while they are studying at Murdoch University.

IT Service Desk & Computing labs
The IT Service Desk offers a variety of services to students including assistance with MyInfo, computing labs, passwords, online call logging system for enquiries and FAQ's.

The Kulbardi Aboriginal Centre offers more than just student support, it offers friendship and cultural strength in a warm and comfortable environment.

Library
Use the Library's web site as a starting point and gateway for all your library research and information needs. Visit the Library to access a wealth of print and digital resources including books, journals, course materials, special collections and research databases, and receive information skills help for all your research and study needs.

LMS (CE 6)
LMS (CE 6) is Murdoch University's online learning environment that students can access both on and off campus.

MUPSA
MUPSA – The Murdoch University Postgraduate Students Association is a Council of the Guild of Students, which is specifically designed to assist postgraduate students in their studies. They provide a range of services specifically dedicated to postgrad students including support, advice, advocacy and representation as well as several events with the opportunity for both academic and social interaction. The association elects a student committee annually and also employs a part time research and support officer. This person can assist you with any issues in relation to either your course or candidature, such as supervision concerns, appeals and general grievances.

Orientation Week
Orientation Week or O-Week happens in the week before semester begins and is an essential part of your transition to University life, check out the timetable to find out what is happening and where.

Parking
A parking permit is required to park a vehicle on campus. There are various types of permits available for purchase either online or in person at the Student Service Centre in the Chancellery building. It is recommended that you apply online to avoid unnecessary queuing during peak enrolment and orientation times.

Prospective Students' and Admissions Centre (PSAC)
Contact PSAC with enquires about applying for a new course at undergraduate or postgraduate level.

Scholarships
Murdoch University offers a number of financial and academic scholarships.

Security
Murdoch University Security provides a range of services including mobile security patrols, emergency response after hours and 24 hour local escort service.

Shuttle bus service
Murdoch University provides a regular inter-campus shuttle bus service between the Murdoch Campus on South Street and Rockingham Campus.

Student Service Centre
The Student Service Centre, in the Office of Central Student Administration, is where you can go to make general enquiries, pay your fees, apply for a parking permit and order transcripts. They are located in the Chancellery building at South Street, in the Administration block of Rockingham campus and in Building Z of the Peel campus.

Student Village
The Student Village is the on-campus residential service for Murdoch University students.

Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC)
The Teaching and Learning Centre provides assistance to both undergraduate and postgraduate students to acquire the language and academic skills required for success at university.

Transperth - SmartRider
From 2008, Transperth replaced the MultiRider system with a new smartcard ticketing system called SmartRider. Murdoch University has an agreement with Transperth where students can authorise the University to provide Transperth with appropriate information regarding their student status. This will enable students to receive the Tertiary Students discount whilst travelling on Transperth services. For more information please see the ‘Transperth’ link under the ‘Other Options’ heading in MyInfo.
