Quality Management Framework

Murdoch University's Quality Management Framework includes:

  • Quality Assurance & Improvement policy (under development).
  • Development of Quality Plans by each organisational unit as defined in the Quality Assurance & Improvement policy.
  • 5-yearly reviews by the Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA).
  • 5-yearly Whole-of-Institution Audits (WOIAs).
  • 5-yearly Academic Organisational Unit (School) Reviews.
  • Professional accreditation reviews.
  • Annual academic quality reviews of Transnational Education (TNE) (policy under development).
  • 5-yearly reviews of research centres.
  • Other thematic reviews on an as needs basis.
  • Monitoring of academic quality assurance within the University by the Academic Quality Audit Committee (AQAC).
  • Mandatory unit reviews.
  • Voluntary Student Surveys of Teaching.
  • School Development Process.
  • Monitoring of learning and teaching outcomes by Faculty Learning & Teaching Committees (FLTCs).
  • Monitoring of the quality of academic offerings by School Boards.
  • Internal auditing by the Office of Internal Audit and Risk Management (IA&RM). The IA&RM web site includes a list of reports produced from 1998 to present.
  • Reports on strategic issues by the Vice Chancellor to each meeting of Senate.
  • Annual performance reporting by the Vice Chancellor and Deputy Vice Chancellors to Senate and Academic Council.
  • Annual monitoring and review by Senate of the strategies and targets in the University’s Strategic Plan (S/30/2003).
