Academic Council The Academic Council is established pursuant to Statute No. 5 – Academic Council, pursuant to Clause 21(1) of the Murdoch University Act 1973. The Standing Orders for Academic Council and Subordinate Bodies apply to meetings of Academic Council, its standing committees, Faculty Committees and School Boards. Working parties established by any of these committees are governed by the Guidelines for Working Parties Established by Academic Council and its Sub-Committees. Standing committees provide reports on their operations to Academic Council in accordance with their approved terms of reference. Research and Development Board The Research and Development Board is established pursuant to Statute No. 24 – Research and Development Board. The Research and Development Board (RDB) was reviewed in February 2009 and a new research governance structure has been recommended, with the RDB to be replaced by a Research Advisory Committee, advisory to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research).
