Campus Services

Alcohol Management and Events Support

This service involves the assessment and approval of events involving alcohol (in compliance with the Murdoch University Alcohol Management Policy) and a variety on non-alcohol events on campus including all food stalls and barbeques.

Event applications can be printed from the website: Application to hold a function or event on campus.

Central Stores

The Central Stores facility provides a range of services as follows:

  • temporary storage (4 weeks only) of items such as furniture and computers
  • warehousing of campus bulk cleaning products, examination booklets, student prospectus booklets and other university promotional material
  • warehousing and sale of bulk envelopes to the campus community
  • archive records
  • storage of Logistics hire items including whiteboards, trestle tables and roll out carpet
  • it is the base for the Office of Facilities Management Logistics team.

For enquiries relating to the provision of temporary space allocation for storage allocation or other Central Stores services, please contact the Central Stores Officer on (08) 9360 2841 or email stores@murdoch.edu.au.

Emergency Management

Emergency Services on Campus (North East corner of Banksia Court, near the Library (vehicle access via car park 8) Security Office are available 24 hours a day on the Emergency Hotline Extension 333 South Street & 7333 Rockingham or 9360 6262.

FM Helpdesk

The Facilities Management Helpdesk is responsible for the logging of requests and faults for services in relation to all facilities operations; technical services, including grounds, security services (after hours contractor access), parking (reserved bays) and events support.

Furniture

This service monitors, assesses and addresses the furniture needs of Central Teaching areas and the Division of Administration on Campus. The role also offers services to the University community as follows:

  • advice, consultation and referral to relevant suppliers for the purchase of furniture,
  • the collection and short term storage of furniture at the Central Stores facility,
  • the re-allocation of second-hand furniture.

Lost Property

South Street Campus

Any person looking to claim lost property or to report property as lost can contact the Office of Commercial Services reception located at the Maintenance Building (near car park 8) between 8.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday or alternatively contact the Help Desk on 9360 2262. Email enquiries regarding lost property should be directed to fm.helpdesk@murdoch.edu.au

After hours, please contact Campus Security on 9360 6262.

Rockingham Campus

Any person looking to claim lost property or to report property as lost can contact the Office Of Commercial Services, Level 2 of the Common Teaching Building between 7.30am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday or alternatively contact the Rockingham reception on 9360 7081.

Peel Campus

Any person looking to claim lost property or to report property as lost can contact the Student Services Desk between 8.30am and 4.30pm on Monday or Friday or alternatively contact the Peel reception on 9582 5501.

When claiming property, suitable ID will be required, i.e. Murdoch University Student Card, Drivers Licence, Passport, or proof of age card.

All unclaimed lost property will eventually be handed to Murdoch Police Station. Murdoch University does not keep or make any profit from lost property in its possession and all lost property is managed according to the "Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (1970)".

Lost property may also be collected on the owners behalf by people (i.e. friends and relatives), as long as they provide written evidence of being authorised to do so.

Mail Services

Provides the delivery and collection of external mail and distribution of internal mail to designated points throughout the Campus. Other services provided are for standard, interstate and international courier services and special delivery dispatch.

Parking and Traffic Services

The University Parking and Traffic office is located in the Chancellery Building, Level 2, Student Services Administration Reception and is open between the hours of 8.30am to 4.30pm * closes at 3:30 pm on the first Tuesday of every Month. The parking and traffic office supply a wide and varied range of services.

Security

The Security service is located in the North East corner of Banksia Court, near the Library (vehicle access via car park 8) and is open 24 hours per day. It provides a number of services to the campus community including security patrols of university campus, after hours liaison point for emergency maintenance, management control of keys and electronic access, after hours opening of doors, opening/securing University main buildings and central teaching rooms and Escort Services.
