all University working days.

- Twenty four hour building emergency service
- Evaluation of building fittings and services

- Modification of facilities for teaching and research
- Health and safety responsibility for building services
Scheduled RCD Testing
Compliance testing of electrical devices called RCD's has been scheduled to be carried out over the next few months from late November / early December 2011. Testing of these devices will mean interrupting power to certain circuits in building/s for a short time whilst testing occurs.
Testing of these RCD's is essential for ensuring a safe working environment.

General Information:
Technical Services role is to support the University in its mission by ensuring
the availability of well maintained physical resource facilities. The section
provides services in the following areas:
- airconditioning and mechanical services
- electrical services
- hydraulic services
- general building services
To assist in general building services delivery, the campus has been divided
into Zones and a representative
from Building Maintenance made primarily responsible for the general maintenance
undertaken in this Zone.
