Roofing Update Re: Preparation Works and Access Restrictions

Access around the Campus

Please see the attached plans below for the proposed pedestrian route changes caused by the site areas for the re-roofing works. The main change in the immediate future will be removal of access between carpark 2 and the NE end of the Science & Computing Building. As examples of changes this will mean:

• when going to the Asian Food outlet, the most convenient route will be following the road skirting car park 2 and taking the sandstone path.
• when going to the Biological Sciences Building the most convenient route will be to circle around south of the Loneragan building.

Please see the dates of pathway closure on the drawings. Please open the 2 drawings to show the different stages of re-roofing works. Zoom-in to view the detail as required by raising the magnification value to approx 150%.

Scaffolding

Please note that scaffolding in preparation for the roofing project will be occurring in the following areas this week and next:

• Friday 3rd November - Chancellery Courtyard East side & North side of courtyard, day works.
• Friday 3rd November - Physical Sciences North wall of north west wing, day works.
• Sat 4th & Sun 5th November - Physical Sciences south side opposite site compound, day works.
• Monday 6th November - Physical Sciences courtyard south wall, night works. After hours access required.
• Tuesday 7th to Thursday 9th November - Chancellery along Bush Court & north elevation of the north wing, night works.
• Library - Mid December for approximately 2.5 weeks, day works.

There will be updates when work is to be completed in further areas of the campus.

Re-roofing for the S&C Bldg is due to start on Wed 8 Nov 2006.
