Murdoch University Art Collection reflects and celebrates the creative vitality and diversity of contemporary Australian visual arts practice.
Displayed in public spaces throughout our Perth, Mandurah and Rockingham campuses, the collection aims to enrich the teaching and learning experience of students and staff by integrating art into university life. Our Perth campus has a dedicated art gallery, the Murdoch University Art Gallery and Senate Building with curated exhibitions held throughout the year.
Supporting the Art Collection
Murdoch University Art Collection is a nationally significant collection featuring close to 2000 fine examples of Australian contemporary art. This important cultural asset is considerably enhanced through generous gifts from our friends and alumni. This support ensures the Collection remains an integral part of our students’ learning experience and enables our unique collection to assist in teaching students across disciplines and to inspire and enhance the understanding and benefits of contemporary art amongst our broader community.
A lasting contribution can be made via a bequest or financial donation either through the Cultural Gifts Program or to the University Foundation.
Murdoch University is a registered donor recipient of the Federal Government’s Cultural Gifts Program. The program encourages the gifting of significant cultural items to public art galleries, museums, libraries and approved collections by offering donors a tax deduction for the market value of the gift(s).
You can provide a lasting contribution to the Murdoch University Art Collection and the teaching and learning activities of Murdoch University through an artwork donation, gift or bequest.
If you would like to discuss how you could assist in the further development of the Art Collection please contact Art Collection Curator Mark Stewart.
