PC Users who do not have admistrator rights on their computer:

Right click on your desktop and choose'"Properties"from the dialog box that appears, this will show the Display Properties window.

Choose the "Screen Saver" tab in the Display Properties window.

In the Screen Saver drop down selection, choose Murdoch_PC. (If you do not have Murdoch_PC in your list - you will need to contact the iT Service Desk ext 2000 and provide them with your computer name.  To find your computer name, right click on My Computer, click on properties and then click on the tab 'Computer Name' and your computer name is the full computer name eg itspc1.ad.murdoch.edu.au)

Check that the "Wait" time and "On resume password protect" are set to suit your requirements.

Press OK

PC Users who have administrator rights on their computer:

Download the screen saver file by choosing the "Download PC" button on the screen saver web page (http://www.murdoch.edu.au/goto/Screensaver).

Save the file to your c:/windows/system32 folder. (The file - Murdoch_PC may already exist as where possible networked PCs will be centrally updated to offer this file. If the file exists there is no need to overwrite it, you may cancel the download and move to the next step.)

Choose the "Screen Saver" tab in the Display Properties window.

In the Screen Saver drop down selection, choose Murdoch_PC.

Check that the "Wait" time and "On resume password protect" are set to suit your requirements.

Press OK.

MAC Users:

The instructions below were tested using the SAFARI web browser.

Download the screen saver file by chosing the "Download MAC" button on the screen saver web page (http://www.murdoch.edu.au/goto/Screensaver).

Double click on the file you have just downloaded (Murdoch_scr). This will begin the installation process.
 
After the screen saver has been installed your Screen Saver Control Panel will be launched.  Choose the screen saver named "test" from the selection list.  (Do not confuse the screen saver named "test" with the "Test" button which is used to preview screen savers in the Control Panel).

Close the Control Panel. The Murdoch Discoverers Screen Saver will display next time your machine is idle.
