Wireless Access

Wireless access to the University network is available to staff and students at the South Street, Rockingham and Peel Campuses. Complete instructions and access points locations are available at: http://wwwcoms.murdoch.edu.au/wireless/ .

The following is a suggested download and install sequence for resources that will be required for Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac users. Following the instructions for your machine, you will;

·         Download the VPN client itself, and install it.

·         Download the "profile" which users need to import in to the client, and import it.

·         Download and/or configure the SSH client for your operating system. 

Windows (XP, Vista – 32 bit versions only):

1.    Download and install: https://wwwcoms.murdoch.edu.au/vpn/download/vpnclient-win-msi-5.0.03.0530-k9.exe

2.    Download and import into Cisco VPN software: https://wwwcoms.murdoch.edu.au/vpn/download/Student%20Wireless%20(v1.1-11Mar2004).pcf

3.    Download PuTTy: http://www.putty.org/

4.    Download and use the configuration instructions for PuTTy: http://www.murdoch.edu.au/itservicedesk/kb/documents/PuTTy_SSH.pdf

Macintosh

1.      For versions 10.0 or 10.1

a.     Download and install: https://wwwcoms.murdoch.edu.au/vpn/download/vpnclient-darwin-4.0.3.E-GUI-k9.dmg

b.    Download and import into Cisco: https://wwwcoms.murdoch.edu.au/vpn/download/Student%20Wireless%20(v1.1-11Mar2004).pcf

2.      For versions 10.2 and up

a.     Download and install: https://wwwcoms.murdoch.edu.au/vpn/download/vpnclient-darwin-4.6.03.0160-GUI-k9.dmg

b.    If you are using 10.4 download and install: https://wwwcoms.murdoch.edu.au/vpn/download/vpnclient-darwin-4.9.01.0080-universal-k9.dmg

c.     Download and import into Cisco: https://wwwcoms.murdoch.edu.au/vpn/download/Student%20Wireless%20(v1.1-11Mar2004).pcf

3.      For Intel and Dual cores

a.     Download and install  https://wwwcoms.murdoch.edu.au/vpn/download/vpnclient-darwin-4.9.01.0100-universal-k9.dmg
