Diagnosis
Exceeding your quota limit in webmail is a common student webmail problem.To find out if you are over your limit, follow the below steps:

  • Log in to webmail.
  • Once logged in, locate the status bar near the top of the screen; if you are over quota this bar will be red and show your quota status; "quota status: 30MB/29.20MB (100.3%)"
  • You will not be able to receive emails, nor will you be able to delete emails to free up space.

Solution
To be able to delete emails to free space, please follow the instructions below.
  • Go into ‘Options’
  • Then into ‘Deleting and Moving Messages’.
  • Un-tick ‘When deleting messages, move them to your Trash folder instead of marking them as deleted?’
  • Click ‘Save Options’
  • Return to your ‘inbox’, select and delete relevant email messages.
  • Click on ‘Purge Deleted’ located at right side of screen, to complete the deletion of emails.
