There are three main reasons why students can't access webpages outside of the murdoch.edu.au domain.

  1. Check that you are logged into Gateway. For information about connecting to the Gateway click here.  Check that you currently have some money in your Quota account. You can do this by clicking here
  2. Check your proxy is set correctly. This is the most common reason that students cannot access the web outside of Murdoch. The address has to be exact, or external connections will fail. Students often mistype part of the address or place a fullstop between www and cache. The full correct address is: http://wwwcache.murdoch.edu.au/autocache For detailed instructions on configuring your browser with the correct proxy settings see - http://quota.murdoch.edu.au/instructions/.   If you are using a Mac with OSX then follow these proxy instuctions - http://www.murdoch.edu.au/itservicedesk/docs/OSX_proxy_settings.html

If none of the above measures work then please contact the IT ServiceDesk.
