All students have 40mb of allocated space on a network server called "mydisk", which is called your Home Drive. When you login to a computer in the computer labs you should be connected to this and will show 'My Computer' as your 'H:' drive in the following format: 12345678 on mydisk\home (H:)

If your Home Drive is not mapped after you have logged in you can easily map to the drive using the following instructions:

Windows XP

  • Open 'My Computer' either by double clicking on the desktop icon or the icon in your start menu.
  • Go to 'Tools' in the Menu bar at the top of the window
  • Select 'Map Network Drive'
  • In the first drop down menu 'Drive' click on the arrow and select H:
  • In the second drop down menu 'Folder' type in \\mydisk\home\12345678 where 12345678 is your student number

MapHomeDrive

Assuming no errors were returned, you should now have your H:\ mapped to your Murdoch Home Page.

Note: You can only map to your Murdoch Home Drive if you are either on campus, or dialed up to Murdoch as your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
