The University automatically provides you with an email address, of the format studentnumber@student.murdoch.edu.au (where studentnumber is your student ID number, eg. 31012345@student.murdoch.edu.au).

You can use another private email address (such as Hotmail, Gmail or your ISP) if you prefer, however accessing your private email over the internet from campus computers or via the Murdoch network will usually incur costs, which will be charged against your internet quota.

If you wish to use a private email address and not your Murdoch student email address, you must tell Murdoch what it is. Otherwise all important messages from various sections of the University, such as examination information, will be sent to your Murdoch student email address. To set your email address on your student record, please see this Knowledge Base article.

To access your Murdoch student email, visit this Knowledge Base article.

NOTE: Students cannot change their Murdoch student email address to include their name. Postgraduate students, however, can apply for a staff equivalent email address. See this
Knowledge base article for more information.
