Purpose: The purpose of the document is to provide clear direction to the University community on the release or upcoming release of a significant software product, or product set.
Product: Microsoft Windows 7 operating system (all versions)
Expected Release Date: Fourth Quarter 2009
Position: The University is currently investigating migration to the next version of Windows, named “Windows 7”.
You are requested NOT to download nor install this product onto a Murdoch owned workstation that is connected to the network. If you have already downloaded and installed the product, then please contact the IT Service Desk for advice on how to proceed. Any issues as a result of this installation may require your workstation to be re-imaged.
