Purpose: The purpose of the document is to provide clear direction to the University community on the release or upcoming release of a significant software or hardware product, or product set.
Product: Apple iPhone (all models and capacities).
Release Date: The 3G iPhone was released in Australia on July 11, 2008. Others models and capacities have been on sale in other countries for over 12 months.
Position: The release of Apple iPhone brings a new generation of device that combines a mobile 3G phone, iPod and personal digital assistant (PDA).
IT Services has carried out extensive testing with our communications network and with applications such as Exchange. We are pleased to announce that the iPhone is now an approved Murdoch University device and as such is now available for ordering through ordering webpage at https://wwwcoms.murdoch.edu.au/phone/telprice.html (under the section TELSTRA & SMARTPHONES).
