To access the Murdoch University Network via the network port in your office, you will need to have an appropriate IP address for your location.
If you have access to a currently networked machine, you can apply for an IP address or receive assistance from the IT Service Desk in completing an IP application.
To make the application as efficient as possible, the following details are required:
- Your name
- Campus
- Building
- Your organisational area (as specific as possible)
- MAC address (to find our MAC address, see this Knowledge Base article)
- The asset number of your machine if it is Murdoch owned (located on the Murdoch University barcode)
- The hardware type (Apple Mac or Windows PC)
- The operating system (eg. Windows XP; Mac OSX10.6)
- The hardware configuration (eg. desktop or laptop)
The application is sent to a representative from your organisational area for approval. Following their approval. IT Services will assign an IP address and the IT Service Desk will contact you to give you the details and assistance on how to apply the new address.
