Due to the costs involved for viewing external webpages such as Google, Yahoo etc, you will need to use your Internet quota. This is done by connecting to the 'Gateway' using SSH.
Once you have logged into the Gateway, you will need to keep the Gateway window open while you are browsing external sites. You will only be charged for viewing external websites, when the window is open.
When you have finished browsing external webpages, you can close the Gateway window.
Murdoch uses PuTTY to connect using SSH and this can be downloaded from the University public software site either using ftp or http using VPN.
