iLecture	Lectopia is the university's iLecture system which digitally records audio from face-to-face teaching and makes it available to students online.
iT Service Counter	The iT Service Counter is located on North Wing Level 2 in the library on Murdoch South Street Campus. The counter is open 24/7.
Lectopia	The Lectopia system (formerly called iLecture) digitally records audio from face- to-face teaching and makes them available to students online. On campus students and off campus students, be they situated locally, regionally or internationally, can access recordings 24 hours a day, 7 days a week within 48 hours of the recording taking place.
Murdoch Authentication & Identification System (MAIS)	The Murdoch Authentication & Identification System, or MAIS as it is usually referred to, is a system used by Murdoch University to identify and authenticate members of the University community who wish to obtain access to restricted functions and information services via MurdochNet. The MAIS uses a login combination of Murdoch Username (ie. Staff Number, Student Number, or Person Number) and Murdoch Password for identifying and authenticating users. It also enables the creation of "authorities" associated with a person or position to grant specific permissions to perform restricted functions (eg. change another person's password).
Murdoch Username	All staff, students and other individuals associated with Murdoch University have an Identification Number (Staff Number, Student Number, or Person Number). This is used as the Murdoch Username.
MyInfo	MyInfo is the web interface to the student information system (Callista). Using MyInfo students can manage information the University keeps about them. Students can look up exam results, enrol and withdraw from units and change personal details such as their postal address and preferred email address.
Proxy	Software for caching and filtering Web content to reduce network traffic on intranets, and for increasing security by filtering content and restricting access.
Quota	The University manages Internet access for students by means of the Student Internet Quota system.
SOE	Standard Operating Environment - is a specification for a standard selection of computer hardware and software for use on computers within Murdoch University
VPN	Abbreviation for Virtual Private Network. This is a method of setting a secure connection between two points. Normally used to set up a connection between your home and work to ensure that any data or files transmitted over the connecton can not be accessed by others.
