Murdoch Campus
The original group of University buildings surround an open court, known as "Bush Court", on an elevated site in the northern part of the campus. The buildings are linked on the court's sides by broad colonnaded verandahs in a compact design which aims at encouraging a sense of community. The peaceful bushland setting makes the Murdoch Campus one of the most beautiful University campuses in Australia. The grounds surrounding the University buildings have been landscaped to include predominantly Australian native trees and shrubs. The plants provide an interesting collection of Australian flora which is a distinctive attraction.
Courtyards have been established between buildings, landscaped with exotic shrubs and trees to create pleasant environments for various activities. A Chinese garden, with ornamental pond, waterfall and pavilion, is one of the most peaceful courtyards on campus. The Joglo Rahayu (Peace Pavilion), known as the Pendopo, is located in a open garden area adjacent to the broadway linking buildings on the western end of campus. Murdoch Campus Courses are offered by Schools of Study.
