Salary Packaging

Murdoch University offers employees a Flexible Remuneration Program (commonly known as salary packaging).

Salary Packaging is an Australian Tax Office approved means of allowing employees to effectively restructure their income.  It is an alternative way of being paid by sacrificing some gross salary in return for non-cash employer provided benefits.

Salary Packaging works by transferring the way you pay for a service or goods, from post-tax to pre-tax.  Effectively, the marginal tax rate that you are on is the saving that can be obtained from Salary Packaging (less any other taxes and charges).

You can choose from a range of benefits which will be paid for by Murdoch University on your behalf, instead of receiving gross salary with PAYG tax deducted.

Murdoch University recommends staff seek specialist salary packaging advice prior to committing to flexible remuneration.
