Academic Consultative Group
The Academic Consultative Group has been established under the Murdoch University Academic Staff Collective Workplace Agreement 2006, ie:
43. Academic Consultative Group (ACG)
An Academic Consultative Group will be established to:
- act as a forum for consultation on industrial and workplace relations issues.
- be a source of members for other committees or panels as described in this Agreement.
The ACG will meet as required, but at least quarterly.
The Academic Consultative Group (ACG) shall comprise of the following:
• Four (4) staff members nominated by the Vice Chancellor from time to time (one of whom is to serve as Chair);
• Two (2) staff members nominated by the NTEU from time to time; and
• Two (2) elected staff representatives.
Nominations shall be made with proper regard to gender equity and the broad balance of academic interests across the University.
Elections shall be conducted in accordance with the election procedure for the University Senate.
Elected members of the Academic Consultative Group shall serve for the life of the Collective Agreement. Should a staff representative resign from the ACG, the University will conduct a special election commencing within four weeks to replace that staff representative.
Subject to the operational requirements of the University, time release shall be provided to members of the ACG to perform those functions specified in this Agreement.
43.1 Employee Member for Committees or Panels
Where a committee or panel established under this Agreement requires an Employee Member, the decision on who that will be shall be made by consensus among the two elected staff members and the two NTEU nominated staff members on the Academic Consultative Group. Where this consensus cannot be achieved, the majority view shall prevail.
43.2 Chairpersons
The Vice Chancellor will select the Chair of committees or panels under this Agreement in consultation with the ACG. The Chair selected shall have relevant experience and be independent of the matter under consideration.

General Staff Consultative Group
The General Staff Consultative Group has been established under the Murdoch University General Staff Collective Workplace Agreement 2006, ie:
42.2 General Staff Consultative Group (GSCG)
The GSCG will provide an open forum to raise and discuss workplace relations issues.
The GSCG will meet on a quarterly basis or as mutually agreed.
42.3 Composition of the General Staff Consultative Group
The GSCG comprises:
- Director Human Resources (or nominee) as Chair
- Three (3) nominees of the Chair
- Three (3) Employee nominees from the Unions: one (1) from the CPSU, one (1) from the NTEU and one (1) from the LHMU; and
- Three (3) elected Employee Representatives.
Members shall be appointed for the life of the Agreement.
