New Employee Induction Program
Welcome to Murdoch University! We trust that you
will find it a rewarding and productive time working here at Murdoch
University. To make your start here easier for you we will invite
you to attend an Induction session shortly after you start.
In the
session we will introduce you to the strategic directions of the
University, where our students come from, advice on working safely and
personal security, key policies and processes - all of which are presented
to you in an informative and useful format.
Topics covered include:
- Murdoch University (who we are and what we do),
- Environmental matters (reducing waste, energy efficiency),
- Student recruitment (both domestic and international), dealing with
questions about the University from colleagues, the public and other
interested people,
- Equal Employment Opportunity (including responsibilities, grievances,
reporting),
- IT @ Murdoch University (systems, policies and procedures),
- Working safely (Occupational & Environmental Safety, Health and Risk),
- Security Services (emergency response, staying safe, and much more, ...).
This is a 1/2 day program running monthly. If you are new to the
University and do not receive an invitation to attend please do not hesitate to
speak to your Supervisor and book yourself on to the program.
At the New Employee Induction Program you will be given a copy of the "Employee Induction and Information Guide". If you wish to download another copy or obtain a later version than the one you have, please click here: Employee Induction and Information Guide.
Another useful document is the New Employee Induction Checklist (follow this link if you have not received one). With this you can assure yourself, and provide evidence to the University, of your having accessed key information.
