Performance Development Review System (PDRS)

PDRS Home Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Goal Setting

NOTE: This page and all pages referred to from this page relate to a revised version of the Performance Development Review System (PDRS) from that implemented in 1998.  This revised version is currently being implemented across Murdoch University.

Unless you have had the revised version implemented or are in the process of working with Human Resources to implement it, then the existing (1998) model continues to apply for your area.  Further information on the existing model can be found at Performance Development Index.

What is the Performance Development Review System?

The PDRS is a process that facilitates an effective ongoing dialogue between individuals and the organisation in which the focus is on communication and feedback, planning for what is important to achieve, and career development.

PDRS is a partnership between an employee and their supervisor where feedback and coaching are essential elements.  The need to focus on what is important to achieve is paramount in times of change and uncertainty and an ongoing dialogue is essential when issues and opportunities can arise from a range of sources:

  • Career development needs
  • Murdoch University's Strategic Plan
  • Division/School/Office Plans
  • Day-to-day issues (e.g. supervising others)

What is in it for me - the employee?

  • To receive factual and ongoing feedback on how I am doing
  • To participate in determining clear work-related goals
  • To understand the contribution that I make to the achievement of division/school/office goals
  • To discuss and plan for career-related development
  • To collaborate with my supervisor in removing barriers preventing the achievement of my goals

Where to from here?

If the revised PDRS is up and running in your area then you should use the menu to the left of screen to get assistance.  Alternatively contact Human Resources on extension 2430 and ask to speak to the Employee Relations Consultant for your area.  E-mail enquiries can be directed to HR Reception.
