The aim of Honours is to extend the student's grasp of the principles and practice of their subject, and to develop ability for independent research.
A student who has completed the ordinary Bachelor of Theology degree at a satisfactory level may be admitted to the Honours program after completion of the ordinary degree. In such a case, the student's final semester may be treated as having been the 12 points of Coursework of Honours. Students may be admitted to the Honours program as soon as they have completed 84 points in the Bachelor of Theology program.
Students complete the BA Honours by doing an additional 24 points beyond the BA.
An Honours qualification of 2A or higher provides for admission to higher research degree study.
