The degree in Health and Environment encompasses the multidisciplinary areas of environmental protection, occupational health and safety, and public health. The major develops an understanding of current issues in environment, health and safety, such as safe drinking water, environmental transmission of infectious diseases, allergies, food quality and contamination, nutrition, waste management, occupational disease and injury, risk assessment and management, and policy. It equips students with a broad-based education in health sciences in order to enable them to pursue a range of career options in the health industry.
For those students who wish to specialise in areas of particular interest, this course, consisting of core and elective units, also provides the flexibility to develop skills and knowledge in specialist areas.
