The Honours year is used to extend a student's grasp of the principles and practice of chemistry by undertaking a rigorous, research-based project. Mentoring by a member of staff enables Honours students to develop the ability for creative, independent research. Students are expected to be involved in the entire research process from concept through to writing and presenting the data obtained, along the way developing skills in advanced chemical technique, project management, high level problem solving, and communication of research findings to peers.
Application forms are available from the Prospective Students' and Admissions Centre.
An Honours qualification of 2A or higher provides for admission to higher research degree study (i.e. Masters and PhD programs).
