Course Code: M1143
The Master of Counselling is a 2-year full-time (or part-time equivalent) postgraduate program that supports students in developing professional competence and personal readiness for a career in counselling. The program is committed to experiential learning, with an emphasis on the counselling relationship, the key feature of effective counselling practice. Students engage in the critical appraisal of selected counselling literature/research and complete a substantial research project addressing an issue in counselling theory or practice. Three supervised practica provide students with the opportunity to develop an integrated and professional counselling practice.

| Employment Prospects: | Job prospects for counsellors are very good; employment growth for counsellors to 2010-11 is expected to be strong.
