Current and Past Students

Welcome to the Murdoch University ‘Ask the Oracle’ home page

The Oracle is a free text enquiry tool designed to assist you to find the answers you need, when you need them.

We have two pathways to the Ask the Oracle site

Our Prospective Students/General Public pathway provides information on how to apply to study at Murdoch, what courses are on offer and a range of other information to help you Choose Murdoch as your university.

Our Current/Past Student pathway opens up a range of topics to assist current students with information on Fees, Enrolments, Parking, Examinations, Graduations, Health & Counselling, Equity, Careers, Employment, Alumni and much more. To access the Current/Past Student pathway you will need your Murdoch Username (Student Number) and Murdoch Password (see Your Login at Murdoch if you need help). If you are a Past student and can't remember your login details, you may also access the Prospective Student/General Public entry point.

Once inside the Ask the Oracle site

finding the information that you need is easy. Simply type into the ‘Search Text’ box the question (or keyword) that you wish to ask and then select the ‘Search’ button.

  • A listing of the most appropriate subjects will be displayed in order of relevance. Have a look at the returned subjects and select the answer that is most appropriate to your question.
  • You can further refine your search by selecting the appropriate ‘General Topic’ and ‘Category’ which will limit returned answers to your student group such as Australian, International or Permanent Resident student.
  • From here you can read the answer, which may be what you are after, or select other related answers listed below.

Ok, so what if the answer to your question is not there?

  • Well, all that you need do is select the ‘Ask a Question’ tab to email to our Service Centre Team. If you are a Current/Past Student it is as simple as that. We will respond back to your Murdoch email account, or your nominated email account as per MyInfo, or you can select the “My Stuff” tab to keep a track of the status of your question.
  • If you are a Prospective Student/General Public you will need to set up an account, but that is as simple as entering your email address and filling out a couple of quick questions.
