Section 3.1.1.3 Hosting Foreign Content

Section 3.1.1.3.2 Copied Copyright Material (Foreign Content, Category R)

Copyright material selected for teaching, learning, research, or administrative purposes, shall not be copied to computers managed by or for Divisions, Schools, Offices, Centres or Institutes, or to other computers on the Murdoch University Network and made accessible via MurdochNet Servers or Affiliated Web Servers.

Material selected for teaching, learning, research, or administrative purposes, including material provided with the permission of the copyright owner, should be copied to a nominated central repository or ‘centre’ maintained on a computer on the Murdoch University Network and made accessible via a designated MurdochNet Server, where such copying is done with the authorisation of the appropriate Murdoch staff and meets the requirements of the Copyright Act 1968.

The nominated repository assigned by the University for the purposes of managing copyright material shall be the Library’s Electronic Course Materials Service (for copyright and media management). The MurdochNet Host may be used to host copied copyright material when an alternative central repository for the management of copyright material is unavailable, or customised access restrictions are required.

Access to such copyright material by Murdoch University staff and students shall comply with the requirements of the Copyright Act 1968 (See Section 5.4.8.5 Foreign Content & Copyright).
