Section 5.7.5 Roles With Responsibility for Content

Section 5.7.5.14 Web Administrator

Web Administrator means a role with responsibility for the operation and support of a Web Server and for Content hosted on that Server. The Web Server shall have been registered as a MurdochNet Server or an Affiliated Web Server for an organisation unit or resource area.

A Web Administrator shall be responsible for:

1) facilitating access restriction to any material that a Content Custodian, a Web Liaison Officer, or a nominated Content Provider, requests restriction for

2) the encryption of sensitive or confidential data by use of a Secure Server.

A Web Administrator, when requested by a Content Custodian, a Web Liaison Officer, the University’s Copyright Coordinator, or the Director, Office of Information Technology Services, shall be responsible for:

  1. removing Content from a computer that they are responsible for, when that Content is:
  2. a. material infringing copyright.

A Web Administrator, when instructed by the Director, Office of Information Technology Services, shall be responsible for:

1) modifying or removing Content from a computer that they are responsible for, when that Content is:

a. deemed Inappropriate Content with respect to Section 3.2.3 Inappropriate Content

b. deemed Non-Compliant Content with respect to Section 3.2.4 Non-Compliant Content.

2) modifying or removing Content from a computer that they are responsible for, when that Content:

a. includes unauthorised links to Internet accessible advertising or sponsorship material with respect to Section 3.3.2.5 Links to Sponsor Sites or Section 3.3.2.6 Links to Advertising Material

b. includes links to Inappropriate Content with respect to Section 3.3.4 Inappropriate Links.
