Section 5.7.5.16 Web-based Application Custodian (In-house)

For Content that is provided as part of an in-house Web-based application, the role of Application Custodian shall be responsibile for ensuring that the Content is managed appropriately.

Where the application uses an existing corporate database, then the Custodian of the database shall be responsible for the Content management.

For applications with their own database, the Application Custodian shall be responsible for:

1) ensuring Content is revised or deleted by authorised persons

2) ensuring Content generated by the application adheres to recommended standards and follows approved guidelines and the Murdoch Conventions for Content Preparation

For applications using existing corporate databases, the Database Custodian shall be responsible for:

1) authorising access to, or views to tables within the database by in-house Web-based applications

2) ensuring Content generated by the application adheres to recommended standards and follows approved guidelines and the Murdoch Conventions for Content Preparation

All persons responsible for the development of Web-based applications should be aware of the potential risks to the University’s good name if inaccurate, misleading, or out-of-date information is accessible via MurdochNet.
