MurdochNet Policy

To facilitate the administration tasks related to MurdochNet, the Office of Information Technology Services shall assign a person to the role of MurdochNet Coordinator.

With respect Content Management, the MurdochNet Coordinator shall have responsibilities related to the overall structure and integrity of MurdochNet, particularly navigation using Registered Links.

The MurdochNet Coordinator shall be responsible for:

(1) providing access via MurdochNet to the MurdochNet Policy and its accompanying guidelines

(2) providing access to the recommended international standards, approved guidelinesand legislation and policies that the MurdochNet Policy refers to

(3) preparation and maintenance of the official University Copyright & Disclaimer Notice

(4) preparation and maintenance of the official University Disclaimer Notice

(5) preparation and maintenance of a Web Sites Privacy Notice to be used in conjunction with the MurdochNet Host and other MurdochNet Servers

(6) preparation and maintenance of the Guidelines for MurdochNet Navigation

(7) preparation and maintenance of the Guidelines for Metadata to Accompany MurdochNet Content

(8) ensuring, in conjunction with the MurdochNet Administrator, that appropriate practices and procedures are in place for preparing and maintaining Content that is hosted on the MurdochNet Host

(9) maintaining indexes of Registered Links (eg. Murdoch A to Z)

(10) preparation and maintenance of top-level navigation pages and information pages

(11) preparation and maintenance of Content related to administration of MurdochNet, including the site for the MurdochNet Management Committee

(12) preparation and maintenance of Content related to access restrictions methods, including MAIS documentation and help topics

(13) liaison with Content Custodians, Web Liaison Officers and Content Providers re the relocation and or revision of sites

(14) advising Web Liaison Officer of any Content that is found to not adhere to recommended standards or follow approved guidelines that the MurdochNet Policy refers to

(15) advising Web Liaison Officer of any Content that is found to have not been prepared using the Murdoch Conventions for Content Preparation that are included in the MurdochNet Policy.
