Section 5.4 Murdoch Conventions for Content Preparation

The Content preparation conventions listed here shall apply to Content (prepared or generated) using HyperText Markup Language (HTML). They should also apply to Content prepared or generated using related format definitions for documents and data.

The following Content preparation conventions shall be applied, as practical, when preparing Content in other file formats such as those used for wordprocessing, spreadsheets, presentations and display (eg. PDF files requiring Adobe Acrobat Reader). For instance, when providing Content in other file formats, Content Providers shall make use of responsibility, date, copyright and CRICOS Provider Code statements in document information footers, placed for example at the end of file. Content in other file formats shall also be assigned an appropriate access level and access restriction implemented as required. The requirements for copyright material (eg. display of Warning Notices) as detailed in Section 5.4.8.5 Foreign Content & Copyright, apply to files in other formats. Content Providers shall also address accessibility issues when providing Content in other file formats (eg. PDF).

The set of Murdoch conventions to be practiced during the preparation of Content shall include:
