Section 5 CONTENT MANAGEMENT

Section 5.1 Content Categories

To facilitate the management of MurdochNet Content, all Content shall be assigned to one of the following categories, as defined in Section 2.2.2 Content

(a) University Content

University Content is MurdochNet Content commissioned by the University and provided by an organisation unit or resource area, including administration, academic divisions and research centres and institutes of the University.

(b) Associated Content

Associated Content is MurdochNet Content that has not been commissioned by Murdoch University, but is relevant to the information needs of the Murdoch community. This Content has been provided by an organisation unit or resource area of the University, or by an individual, or by a group of individuals recognised as being associated with the University. Such Content is generally made accessible via MurdochNet through links created to it from within University Content.

(c) Foreign Content

Foreign Content is MurdochNet Content that has not been commissioned by Murdoch University, nor by an organisation or individual with a recognised association with the University. Such Content is generally made accessible via MurdochNet through links created to it from within University Content or Associated Content. Where Foreign Content is made available as part of an Internet Content Hosting Service provided by the University for another institution, or for an organisation, association, or conference, the service is authorised by means of a formal contractual arrangement.

This policy also refers to types of material when defining appropriate Content (Section 3.2.1 Appropriate Content). The same type of material (eg. Teaching and Learning material) may be found within one or more Content categories.
