Section 4 SERVER MANAGEMENT

Section 4.9 Responsibility for Web Servers

Section 4.9.4 Head of Division

A Head of Division shall be responsible for:

(1) authorising the association of an approved alternate domain name with a computer on the Murdoch University Network for the purpose of running an Affiliated Web Server that performs the role of an Internet Content Host.

A Head of Division (or their official nominee), shall also be responsible for:

(2) approving requests for the registration of Web Servers run on computers managed by their respective organisation unit or resource area

(3) approving requests for the registration of Virtual Servers that host Content for their respective organisation unit or resource area

(4) approving requests for the registration of Individual Web Servers run on computers provided for the use of staff and students in their respective organisation unit or resource area

(5) authorising registered MurdochNet Servers to perform the role of Internet Content Host

(6) authorising the removal or disabling of obsolete Web Servers

(7) investigating reports of inappropriate use of Servers run on computers in their Divisional organisation units or resource areas

(8) investigating reports of Non-Compliant Hosting of Content on Servers as defined in Section 3.1.1 of the Code of Conduct.
