Section 4.4.3 Organisation Units or Resource Areas Web Server Alias Naming Convention
The agreed naming convention for organisation units or
resource areas is:
the standard prefix www
in conjunction with an approved sub-domain in the format of www.name.murdoch.edu.au, eg.
www.its.murdoch.edu.au
The preferred format for aliases assigned to organisation
units or resource areas shall be
www.name.murdoch.edu.au
NOTE: Application
of the above naming convention is based on the premise that the University’s
DNS environment shall facilitate the allocation of sub-domains.
