Section 4.1.4 Server Registration and Authorisation Variations
Variations to the above Server registration and ICH
authorisation requirements shall apply to Servers registered for purposes other
than hosting or providing access to University Content.
Provided the hosting of the site is:
(a) clearly related to, or supports the University’s mission and
the goals of MurdochNet
(b) and an agreement for Indemnity for Content has been entered into
between the University and an organisation
a Web Server may be run on a computer on the Murdoch University
Network for one of the following:
(i) an educational institution or organisation, including an
affiliated institution
(ii) an institution or organisation owned fully, or in part by the
University
(iii) an organisation or project in which the University is a participant
(iv) a state or national consortium of which the University is a
member
(v) a publication, project, or competition sponsored by the
University
(vi) an organisation with a recognised association with the
University
(vii) other bodies with which the University has close demonstrable
links
(viii) a professional organisation, association or conference.
The duration for which a Server of this type shall be run,
shall be determined at the time a Server is authorised.
An applicant for the respective Division, School,
Centre or Office that is responsible for sponsoring the provision of an
Internet Content Hosting service, shall initiate the registration process.
