Section 4.7 Backup (Hardware, Software, Data) of Web Servers
In order to provide a reliable and consistent service to
end-users of MurdochNet, the Web Server software and MurdochNet Content on all
computers used to run MurdochNet Servers and Affiliated Web Servers shall be
backed-up appropriately, so that:
- material can be recovered or restored quickly in the
event of loss or corruption of files/data due to system failure
- services can be resumed promptly in the event of a
major hardware failure.
Backup facilities and procedures should not be regarded as a
substitute for an archival facility. Should Content require archiving, then
appropriate steps should be taken to provide a suitable environment.
