Section 4.1 Registration of Web Servers
MurdochNet Servers
All Web Servers accessible via the domain murdoch.edu.au or and approved sub-domain of the
domain murdoch.edu.au shall be registered as MurdochNet Servers.
Registration of a MurdochNet Server shall include a record
in the University’s Server Registration System and a corresponding entry in the
University’s Domain Name Server (DNS). The details used shall include an
approved alias used in conjunction with the murdoch.edu.au domain, or an
approved sub-domain, and an agreed IP address and port. A MurdochNet Server
should also be able to be identified via an entry in a centrally-maintained
index (eg. Murdoch A to Z).
Affiliated Web Servers
All Web Servers accessible via an approved alternate domain
to the domain murdoch.edu.au
shall be registered as Affiliated Web Servers.
Registration of an Affiliated Web Server shall include a
record in the University’s Server Registration System and a corresponding entry
in the University’s Domain Name Server (DNS). The details used shall include an
approved alternate domain name used in conjunction with an agreed IP address
and port. An Affiliated Web Server should also be able to be identified via an
entry in a centrally-maintained index (eg. Murdoch A to Z).
