DEFERRED ADMISSIONS

1. Deferral of admission will be granted automatically to any person offered an undergraduate place through TISC who applies for deferment.
2. Deferment will be for one or two semesters, whichever is sought by the applicant. Applicants who seek deferment to fulfil military or national service obligations may apply for a longer deferment. Such requests will be considered on a case by case basis.
3. Students will be informed that they are obliged to provide the University with full details of any formal tertiary study taken elsewhere during the course of the deferral. The offer of a deferred place may be cancelled if the results of any such study are unsatisfactory.
4. For the Law and Veterinary Biology courses, applications for deferred admission will be considered only if received by the deadline for acceptance of first round offers. The only exception to this will be second round offerees who have been given a place in recognised international student exchange programs, such as AFS or Rotary. These students may apply for deferral following the second round of offers. Their deferral applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Chair of the Committee on University Entrance, in consultation with the Chair of the Admissions Sub-committee of the relevant School.
